Summer School

Students who wish to make up entire semesters of courses should enroll in the River City Summer School program. Students wishing to recover English credit should enroll in the River City Summer School program. Please connect with Ms. Claudia to make sure you’re enrolling in the correct sessions and courses.

AVID 9 & 11

If you earned 30-60% in AVID 9 or 11, you can improve your graders for either semester with 1-on-1 meetings to discuss individualized plans and program mapping. Follow up meetings will review skills and answer questions. Students will focus on demonstrating competence in specific AVID skills rather than redoing the missed work. Work will be done by the end of June and students will receive a C on their transcripts.

History & AVID 10

All students wanting to improve their History or AVID 10 grades should reach out to Ms. MacFarlane. Starting 5/26 and running 1- 3 weeks depending on the student's need, students will create an individual plan to pass specific standards that were missed during the year. This can be for either or both semesters for 2020-2021.

Math

Math students with a numerical grade percent of a 15% or higher who want to improve their grade for Semester 2 content can participate in our 3-week recovery program combining in-person and remote in which students will focus on targeted standards in their course. This program will start May 26th and interested students should contact Mr. Cevallos.

Science

Students who received a 58% or higher in a science course can improve their grades with individual in-person meetings on May 26th and 27th followed by virtual follow ups with Mr. Marks over the summer. Most instruction will be through an asynchronous learning platform. Contact Mr. Marks to sign up.

Seniors

For the first time ever, WMCHS is crafting a College Bridge program for graduating seniors. Our goal is to support our students through the transition from high school all the way to the steps of their chosen college. Staff is already reaching out to seniors.

SCC Classes

Washington Middle College will be able to cover fees and materials for any Summer term Sacramento City College classes that students take. Please connect with Ms. Claudia or fill out the Advanced Education form as soon as possible if you are interested in taking a summer college class.
