220 Credits in Core Courses
In accordance with WMCHS Charter all A-G coursework must be completed with a "C" grade

Academic Supports
WMCHS offers a variety of in person and virtual academic support options aimed to assist our students with the rigor and challenges of high school and college coursework.
Zero Period
- Monday-Friday 8:00am-9:00am
- Students can receive Math and English support from WMCHS Teachers or work with one of our Peer Tutors
WMCHS Office Hours
- Every Friday from 9:15-10:55 students will have the ability to sign up for two seperate one hour sessions to meet with their teachers. Students can tutilize this time to get extra help, resubmit work, retake assessments, or make of work that was missed due to absence
- This is enbeded into our school day and all WMCHS students will participate in this every Friday
Science Office Hours
- Every Tuesday and Thursday from 2:20-3:50pm students can attend Mr. Marks Science Office Hours to obtain additional support in Biology and Chemistry. Please contact Mr. Marks if you would like to attend office hours at dmarks@wusd.k12.ca.us
Parent Canvas Login
- WMCHS utilizes a seperate grade monitoring system than Aeries called Canvas. Parents can create an account to access students grades and assignments. Please contact Mrs. Rizo if you need assitance in setting up your Canvas Parent account at arizo@wusd.k12.ca.us
Peer Tutoring
- WMCHS has peer tutors available to assist students in all WMCHS subject areas
- If you are interested in signing up for a Math tutor please contact Mr. Cevallos at mcevallos@wusd.k12.ca.us
- If you are interested in signing up for a Science tutor please contact Mr. Marks at dmarks@wusd.k12.ca.us
- If you are interested in signing up for tutoring in English, History, or academic study skills please contact Mrs. Lane at rlane1@wusd.k12.ca.us
SCC Tutoring
- Students that require assistance in their SCC classes can access free online and in person tutoring through the Sacramento City College

- Students who need Math and/or English tutoring can also access virutal, in person, and drop by tutoring services at the West Sacramento Center

Work Permits
REQUESTING A WORK PERMIT
Work Permits are processed by our Academic School Counselor, Claudia Gaona Guzman. Please follow the instructions below.
- You can find in-depth information about student work laws on the California Department of Industrial Relations page.
- Print out and complete the “Statement of Intent to Employ a Minor & Request for a Permit”, also known as the CDE B1-1 form. This form must be completed and signed by both the employer and a Parent/Guardian.
- Next, return the completed CDE B1-1 form to our Academic School Counselor, Claudia Gaona Guzman, at the school. Please call her at (916) 375-7901 ext. 3313 or via email at cgaonaguzman@wusd.k12.ca.us to coordinate a time to drop off the CDE B1-1 form in exchange for a validated Work Permit which will expire five days into the next school year.
- The school will keep a copy and you will take the second copy to your employer, both copies must be signed by you.
- Students must have a 2.0 GPA or better (the weighted GPA is used)
The student has to have 80% attendance or better
NOTE: Otherwise, the Principal's written approval is required before Mrs. Gaona Guzman may issue the Work Permit.
